.Mac Group
In addition to conferences and publication projects, the ICI supports a cybernetic group to promote information exchange and research collaboration by means of a Group Home Page site in the .Mac system. ICI Fellows and Scholars receive an electronic invitation to join the ici.org group and must create a profile for continuing access. The site is closed and all information on the site is private to the group (not publicly available to search engines). The site allows text and image archiving, together with e-mail distribution to all members of the Institute. Every member profile contains immediate hot-link access links to each individual’s e-mail, postal address, and internet homepage. There are also site links to the ICI Home Page and the ICI Member Directory, plus other research sites. In addition, the group page supports a separate frame for timely announcements.
